STAR STEPS

This is a proposal on an urban scale, where the city is conceived as a large canvas. The punctured grid of a celestial region and the photographic documentation of the interventions in the public space induce the observer, as in some previous works, to reflect on a great paradox of the civilized world where the lights of the city disallow, more and more, the possibility of seeing the stars;

Bringing down the stars to earth, by transforming zebra crossings into stars crossings, the passerby is induced to an aesthetic experience addressing that while the city streets light-up and the immediate material world turns to occupy the entire capacity of human perception, the cosmopolitan inhabitant loses his visual contact with the stellar universe to which he belongs, more distant every day from his conscience and daily living.
